There is no verb "to have" in Arabic. In order to express possession, other constructions must be used by adding a suffixed pronoun to them.
- The most common word for the phrase "to have" is عِنْدَ.

2. "To have" can also be expressed by the preposition لِـ with an appended suffix. When we add a suffixed pronoun to لِـ, it changes the vocalization to لَـ (except for 1 person singular).
