Telling time in Arabic
Expressing the time is very simple. First of all, it should be remembered that in Arabic there is a 12-hour system, and the hours are expressed with the ordinal numeral (except 1 hour).
Difficulty may be seen when adding minutes. They are expressed in the cardinal numeral in the appropriate case and number (after numbers from 3 to 10 - plural in the genitive - دَقَائِقَ / after numbers from 11 to 60 - singular in the accusative - دَقِيقَةً).
| PRONUNCIATION | HOUR | HOUR |
|---|---|---|
